There will be a Release Party on June 15th at Roots Club.  On that night we will share the stage with our friends from DIVINE: ZERO

In Heft 137 hatte ich den Mönchengladbacher Metal-Newcomer SACRED GATE ja bereits anhand ihrer Debüt-EP 'Creators Of The Downfall' vorgestellt. Die drei Studiosongs dieser EP ('Creators Of The Downfall', 'Burning Wings', und 'Vengeance') sowie einer der drei Livetracks ('The Realm Of Hell' - natürlich in einer Studioversion) sind ebenfalls auf der vorliegenden Longplay-CD 'When Eternity Ends' enthalten. Auch die übrigen fünf Komposotionen sind nicht schlechter ausgefallen als das bereits bekannte Songmaterial. Ganz und gar unteutonisch bestechen SACRED GATE mit guten Riffs und melodiöse Soloparts, die Gitarrist Nicko Nikolaidis äußerst cool und sehr songdienlich zockt. Dazu paßt die solide Rhythmussektion Peter Beckers (b), Christian Wolf (d) und der melodische Gesang von Jim Over wie der sprichwörtliche Arsch auf den Eimer. Die musikalische Reife, die SACRED GATE bereits bei ihrer EP auszeichnete, hebt die Band aus der Masse der Newcomer heraus und bringt mich dazu, dieser CD sogar einen Punkt mehr zu geben als damals der EP.

SACRED GATE kommen aus dem Rheinland und legen mit ''When eternity ends'' ein Debütalbum vor, das sich gewaschen hat. Musikalisch liegt der Fünfer irgendwo in der Schnittmenge von altem Teutonenstahl a la Running Wild, NWOBHM-Helden wie Angel Witch und traditionellem US-Metal. Die Produktion mag zwar nicht die beste und teuerste sein, man merkt aber sowohl nach vorne gehenden Songs wie dem Opener 'Creators of the Downfall' oder ' In the Heart of the Iron Maiden' als auch der gefühlvoll vorgetragenen und an alte Grave Digger erinnernden Ballade 'Freedom or Death' deutlich an, wie viel potenzial in der Band steckt. Saubere Leistung, bitte mehr davon.

Hi Metalheads, some of you knew this, but now it is official: SACRED GATE  became a member of the METAL ON METAL Records family.
The debut full-length CD of SACRED GATE When Eternity Ends will be available since April 27th (Keep It True festival). When eternity ends is a timeless heavy metal album with some US power metal influences, played with true conviction, talent and class.
